The SRTE is a demountable transfer system which enables hooklift equipped trucks to load or unload containers from rail or other road vehicles. In its military form the SRTE is designed to unload 20ft ISO-planform flatracks weighing up to 16.5 tonnes from a railway wagon alongside. The SRTE carries the flatrack to a storage point where it is transferred to the ground to await onward transport by another hooklift vehicle.
