'D' Series Recovery Units

The 'D' Series recovery units are designed for on-road recovery applications. All units have an extending hydraulic underlift boom and winch. Spreader bars, forks and a remote control handset are supplied as standard. Lockers to suit particular chassis/cabs can be provided.

The D2125 is suitable for the heaviset highway recovery tasks with its retracted boom lift capacity of 13 tonnes. The casualty may be lifted by forks, specially designed adaptors or the wheelframes rated up to 8 tonnes axle load. A 25 tonne line pull main winch is normally fitted, together with rear anchor spades.

In order to ensure adequate front axle weight remains when towing, a ballasted front bumper is usually specified, complemented by a front winch of 7 or 11 tonnes pull for self recovery and light rescue operations.

The D1010 is designed primarily for bus recovery, with its low-level double-extension hydraulic boom enabling it to reach set-back axles. Subject to it being mounted on a suitable chassis the retracted boom lift capacity is 9 tonnes. A 7 or 11 tonne line pull winch is normally specified.
